**ARRESTS**

Felony Child Abuse | Cruelty and Injuries to a Child – On July 31st at 9:11PM, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit responded to an apartment located in the 4400 block of Worchester Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a child abuse accusation. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old female juvenile, got into a verbal altercation with the accused, De’Mari BRANNAM, which escalated physically. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and, at one point, repeatedly struck her with an electrical cord to the body. An acquaintance of the accused, Laren MCMILLIAN, also struck the victim with an electrical cord which included a strike to the victim’s face.  The victim sustained lacerations and welts to her body as a result of the incident. All parties are known to one another. Following the investigation, both suspects were arrested.

Laren Keiyon MCMILLIAN, 26, of the 4400 block of Worchester Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with felony child abuse and cruelty & injuries to children

De’Mari Jahnessa BRANNAM, 25, 1354 Eisenhower Cir in Woodbridge
Charged with felony child abuse and cruelty & injuries to children
Court date: pending | Bond: $2,000 secured

Unlawful Wounding – On August 2nd at 7:18AM, officers responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred in the 7300 block of Willison Blvd in Manassas (20109) earlier that morning around 1:00AM. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 36 year old man of Richmond, and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face causing a significant injury. The victim went to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Joshua Cole GODWIN, 19, of 2688C Elevation Rd in Four Oaks, NC
Charged with unlawful wounding
Court date:  September 21, 2015 | Bond: $5,000 secured

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer – On August 1st at 2:00AM, a Prince William County police officer was at the Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) processing the accused after he was arrested for driving under the influence. While being processed, the accused became agitated and pushed the arresting officer. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, driving under the influence, obstruction of justice and unreasonable refusal

Child Endangerment – On August 1st at 2:00AM, a Prince William County police officer conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Sudley Rd and Plantation Ln in Manassas (20110) for a traffic violation. During the encounter, the accused was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence. Inside of the vehicle at the time of the stop was the son of the accused, a four year old boy. The child was not injured. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Marvin Serrano HERCULES, 30, of 8411 Piney Point Ct in Manassas
Charged with child endangerment, driving under the influence and driving without a license
Court date: pending | Bond: $6,500 secured

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary – On August 2nd at 3:28AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Mountain Laurel Lp in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an alarm activation. The homeowner reported to police that the occupants of the home were asleep when they woke to the alarm going off. Upon checking the residence, the homeowner observed the front door open. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Two unsecured vehicles in the driveway were found to have been entered. A key to the residence was believed to have been used to enter the home. Property from the vehicles, including a wallet and keys, were reported missing. No property was missing from the residence.

Residential Burglary – On August 1st at 8:46PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 12700 block of Ripple Creek Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:20AM and 8:10PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A laptop was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 1st at 11:55AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 10100 block of Irongate Way in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The property owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00PM on July 31st and 8:30AM on August 1st. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a rear sliding glass door which was forced open. Miscellaneous property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 1st at 10:45AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 7300 Yountville Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:00PM on July 30th and 10:20AM on August 1st. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A laptop, camera and other property were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On July 30th at 11:31AM, officers responded to the Thousand Oaks Community Pool located at 12500 Clipper Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. Staff reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00PM on July 29th and 10:47AM on July 30th. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the pool area. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 1st at 6:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8100 block of Tall Timber Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime around 3:15AM, entry was attempted into the home through a rear door. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.
