**UPDATES**

Attempted Armed Robbery *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On August 2nd, detectives were able to identify a suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred in the area of Dumfries Rd and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries on March 23rd. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants against the accused.

Darius Dequan BRENT, 23, of 17327 Rocky Mount Ln in Dumfries [Last known address]
Described as a black male, light complexion, 5’5”, 175lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Suspect also has a mole on his right cheek and tattoos on his right, left arm & right wrist
Wanted for attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery

Attempted Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On March 23rd at 11:52PM, police responded to the area of Dumfries Rd and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026) for an attempted robbery. The victim, a 21 year old man of Annandale, reported to police that he arranged to meet an unknown man in the area above in order to purchase cell phones. When the victim arrived, the man did not have the property. The victim then attempted to leave, at which point, a second unknown man approached the victim and displayed a handgun. The victim was able to run away from the two suspects and call 9-1-1. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. A K-9 was used to search for the suspects.

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robbery – On August 10th at 9:09PM, police responded to Maplewood Dr and McLean St in Manassas (20111) for a robbery. The victim, 24 year old man of Strasburg, reported to police that he was walking in the area above when he was approached from behind by an unknown person. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. The victim was unable to describe the suspect.

Armed Robbery – On August 9th at 7:12PM, police responded to the Sunoco Service Station located at 1260 Annapolis Way in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that two unknown men entered the business. One of the men approached the counter to make a purchase. When the employee opened to the cash drawer, the suspect displayed a handgun and removed the drawer. Both men then fled the store to awaiting vehicle being driven by a third unknown person. No injuries were reported.
Suspect Description:
2 black males, both reported to be between 30 & 40 years of age
1st male [armed suspect] was described as having a thin build – no further description
Last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans

2nd male was described as having a medium build – no further description
Last seen wearing a white baseball cap, black shirt with white stripes, and blue jeans

Vehicle Description:
Small, black SUV, possibly a Ford Escape

Indecent Exposure – On August 9th at 9:21PM, police responded to the 8100 block of Pointer Ln in Manassas (20109) for a suspicious person. The victim, a 23 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she was inside her residence when she observed an unknown figure outside her window. Upon closer look, the victim observed that the figure was a man and that the suspect was exposing himself and making inappropriate gestures. Once being seen by the victim, the man fled the area. The victim was unable to describe the suspect.

Residential Burglary – On August 12th at 1:07AM, police responded to the 14300 block of Fowlers Mill Dr in Gainesville (20155) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that an unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence by kicking open a rear door. The residents of the home were able to secure themselves in a bedroom and contact police. The suspect(s) fled prior to police arrival. A safe, iPad, 2 gaming consoles, total value around $1,200, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing. This incident is not believed to be random. Investigation continues.

Commercial Burglary – On August 11th at 11:23AM, police responded to the Montclair Country Club Pool located at 16500 Edgewood Dr in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary. Staff member reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30PM on August 10th and 11:23AM on August 11th. Entry appeared to have been made through the front door which had been forced opened. No property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 11th at 2:27AM, police responded to the 1800 block of Cedar Cove Way in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30AM and 2:08AM. Entry appeared to have been made through a window which had been forced open. A laptop, jewelry, shoes, and other property, total value around $5,500, were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 11th at 1:00AM, police responded to the 1300 block of E. Longview Dr in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:30AM and 1:00AM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. A purse, valued around $60, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On August 10th at 8:28AM, police responded to the UST Cleaners located at 14660 Gap Way in Gainesville (20155) for a burglary. Business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00PM on October 9th and 8:00AM on October 10th. Entry appeared to have been made through a front glass door which had been broken out. An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On August 9th at 8:11PM, police responded to the 8300 block of Brooks Ln in Manassas (20111) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00AM and 8:00PM. Entry appeared to have been made through the front door which had been forced open. A safe containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 10th at 3:00PM, police responded to the 14300 block of North Park Ct in Woodbridge (22193) for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 10:00AM and 3:00PM, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence through a side door. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On August 9th at 8:20AM, police responded to the Lake Ridge Executive Park located at 12512 Lake Ridge Dr in Woodbridge (22192) for an attempted burglary. Property manager reported to police that between 5:00PM on August 7th and 6:45AM on August 8th, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the complex through a window which had been broken out. No entry was made into the complex and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On August 8th at 8:28PM, police responded to the 16700 block of Capon Tree Ln in Woodbridge (22193) for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 33 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused picked up a knife and threw it towards the victim, striking him to the arm and causing a minor cut. Other occupants of the home were able to break up the two parties. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Abduction | Domestic Related – On August 10th at 7:24AM, police responded to the 13400 block of Hillendale Dr in Woodbridge (22193) for a domestic dispute. The victim, a 36 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation. During the encounter, the victim was able to leave the residence to try and get help. The accused located the victim and forcibly took her back to the residence. Once inside the home, the accused assaulted the victim and made threats. Police were eventually contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Jason Edward CLYBURN, 37, of the 13400 block of Hillendale Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with abduction and domestic assault & battery
Court date: September 12, 2013 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Strong Armed Robbery – On August 9th at 5:43PM, police responded to the Food Lion located at 14641 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) for a robbery. The victim, a 71 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she had just exited the grocery store when she was approached by an unknown male juvenile in the parking lot. The juvenile struck the victim to her face, knocking her to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspect took the victim’s purse and fled the area on foot. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect. The K-9 and handler were able to locate the suspect, identified as the accused, in the area of Kentucky Ave and Arkansas St. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. Minor injuries were reported by the victim.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On August 11th at 2:32AM, police responded to the 8300 block of Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) for a large fight. Officers arrived in the area and were able to determine that the fight was only verbal. As officers were attempting to disperse the parties involved, the accused became disorderly and struck one of the officers to his chest. The accused was eventually arrested without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Shane Michael FRANKLIN, 24, of 8463 Crozier Ct #202 in Manassas
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO and intoxication in public
Court date: October 9, 2013 | Bond: $5,000 secured

Residential Burglary – On August 10th at 2:35AM, police responded to the 16500 block of Royal Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, forcibly entered her residence by breaking a rear window. Once inside the residence, the accused forced the victim’s bedroom door open. As officers were arriving at the home, the accused fled on foot. A police K-9 was used to search for accused. After an extensive search, the K-9 and handler were able to locate the accused on Williamsburg Ct where he was taken into custody. The homeowner was not injured during the encounter and no property was reported missing.
