Incidents and arrests released by Prince William County Police Department on Tuesday, May 5, 2015

**INCIDENTS**

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 4th at 6:34PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Victory Lakes Lp in Bristow (20136) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that a phone app connected to the residence’s security system indicated a basement window was opened around 2:59PM. When the homeowner checked the window, it was found opened and a curtain that was covering the window was lying on the ground. No entry is believed to have been made into the home and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding – On May 4th at 12:44AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of Monmouth Ct in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 41 year old man of Dumfries, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife and cut the victim to his hand. The parties eventually separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Connie Dean BERRYMAN, 59, of the 16900 block of Monmouth Ct in Dumfries
Charged with malicious wounding

Strangulation | Assault & Battery – On May 2nd at 11:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13900 block of Napa Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 40 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused put his hands around the victim’s neck and pushed her against a wall. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Bruce Franklin MARCHAL, 48, of 13900 Napa Dr in Manassas
Charged with strangulation and assault & battery
