Incidents and arrests released by Prince William County Police Department on Monday, May 25, 2015.

**INCIDENTS**

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 23rd at 7:24PM, officers responded to the 400 block of Belmont Bay Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that multiple gun shots were heard in the area above along a walking path in a wooded area. Several shell casings were also located along the path. No injuries or property damage were reported. The area was checked by officers.

Residential Burglary | Grand Larceny Auto – On May 24th at 10:15AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13000 block of Scotch Heather Pl in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:15AM and 9:30AM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry was made into an attached garage, possibly through an unsecured overhead garage door. A 2008 white, Land Rover LR3 SUV with VA tags-LR3ZROC was reported missing.

Commercial Burglary | Attempted Commercial Burglary – On May 24th at 3:53AM, officers responded to the Lake Ridge Barber Shop located at 12435 Hedges Run Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The caller reported to police that the front glass door of the above window was found broken out. No suspects were located and no property was reported missing. While checking the shopping center, officers discovered the door to a neighboring business, Nails Design and Spa, was partially broken. No entry is believed to have been made. The incidents were reported to have occurred sometime between 7:00PM on May 23rd and 3:53AM on May 24th. A police K-9 was used to search the area.

Residential Burglary – On May 22nd at 4:25PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Castile Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:45AM and 2:20PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear window. A laptop, jewelry, gaming console and other property were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On May 21st at 8:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 18300 block of Sharon Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:00AM and 5:00PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear sliding glass door which was broken out. Three handguns, a cell phone and other property were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 23rd at 9:59AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate an attempted burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that sometime between 5:45PM and 9:00PM on May 22nd, entry was attempted into the apartment through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 23rd at 1:38AM, a Prince William County police officer was on routine patrol in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy (Route 1) and Rosedale Dr in Woodbridge (22191) when the officer observed a man running down the middle of Route 1. The officer approached the man and repeatedly asked for information. During the encounter, a strong odor of alcohol was emanating from man, who was later identified as the accused. The accused was subsequently arrested and transported to the Adult Detention Center in Manassas. While at the center, the accused refused commands and bit the officer’s wrist. Minor injuries were reported.

Trinidad LOPEZ HERNANDEZ, 26, of 1901 Stevens Rd in Woodbridge
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO and intoxication in public
Court date: pending | Bond: $7,500 secured
