**ARRESTS**
Burglary | Attempted Sexual Assault – On May 19th at 6:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Jade Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary in progress. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 28 year old woman, was in an upper level bedroom sleeping when an unknown male entered the room and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to escape the residence and contact police. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear door. No injuries were reported. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspect as the accused. The accused was located and arrested without further incident.

Maaz MALIK, 22, of 8351 Crackling Cedar Ln in Gainesville
Charged with burglary and attempted forcible sodomy
Court date: July 15, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond
Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On May 12th at 8:53PM, officers responded to the Food Lion located at 14641 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a larceny in progress. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect who was identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained. Once detained, the accused actively resisted and kicked an officer in the leg. Minor injuries were reported to the accused. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Tyrik Bernard RANDALL, 18, of 14115 Cove Landing Dr in Woodbridge
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, resisting arrest, petit larceny, and intoxication in public
