**ARRESTS**
Rape – On April 12th, detectives from the Special Victim’s Bureau began an investigation into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred in the 13300 block of Haddock Rd in Woodbridge (22193) in September of 2008. The victim, a 14 year old female (current age) of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was raped by the accused, a family member, when she was 10 years old. The victim reported the incident to school staff on April 12th of this year. School staff immediately notified police prompting the investigation. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested the next day.

Burglary with Intent to Defile | Attempted Indecent Liberties – On April 13th at 1:43AM, police responded to the 17800 block of Man St in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary in progress. The victim, a 15 year old female of Dumfries, reported to police that an unknown man forced his way into her residence through a back door and attempted to assault her while she was in bed. The victim was lying in bed next to another family member and alerted them to what was happening. At that point, the man fled the residence. Detectives from the Special Victim’s Bureau were able to identify the suspect as a neighbor. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Charged with burglary with intent to defile and contributing to the delinquency of a minor

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Brandishing a Machete – On April 14th at 5:31PM, police responded to the 7400 block of Lake Dr in Manassas (20111) for an assault. The victims, a 32 year old man and a 48 year old man – both of Manassas, reported to police that they were involved in an altercation with the accused, a known acquaintance, after he struck their mailbox with his vehicle. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a machete and began swinging it towards the victim’s and other witnesses at the residence. The accused then got back into his vehicle and left the area. One of the victims further advised that the accused had called him the day prior and made threats. Officers located the accused at his residence where he was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.

Elmer Ernesto ESPINOZA ESCOBAR, 39, of 8010 McLean St in Manassas
Charged with attempted malicious wounding, brandishing a machete, hit & run, and making threatening phone calls
Court date unavailable, held WITHOUT bond
Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 14th at 1:00AM, police responded to the 8200 block of Wycliffe Ct in Manassas (20109) for a loud party complaint. Officers arrived and observed one of the attendees, later identified as the accused, flee the area on foot. Officers caught up to the accused and attempted to place him under arrest. After a brief the struggle the accused was detained. Several other attendees approached officers and interfered with the arrest. Additional charges on those attendees were obtained. No injuries were reported by the officers.

Charged with assault & battery on LEO, resisting arrest, escape without force, and intoxication in public

**INCIDENTS**
Armed Robbery | Attempted Malicious Wounding – On April 12th at 9:27PM, police responded to the area of Hillendale Dr and Haddock Rd in Woodbridge (22193) for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived in the area and located the victim, a 20 year old man of Woodbridge, who reported to police that he was in the area of Harry Dawson Park waiting for a male acquaintance to sell marijuana. When the man arrived, he displayed a shotgun and demanded the marijuana and the victim’s wallet. The victim handed over the marijuana and then a struggle ensued over the wallet. The victim was eventually able to break free and run away. The male suspect began to chase the victim and, at one point, fired the shotgun towards the victim. No injuries were reported. Detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify the suspect involved in this case as the accused. A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s address on Kendall Dr in Woodbridge, however the accused was not located. The victim was also charged with a drug related offense in regard to this incident. Investigation continues.

Described as a black male, 5’8”, 150lbs, medium build with black hair and brown eyes
Wanted for robbery, attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Jose Neftaly CANALES GRANADOS, 20, of 4215 Holiday Ct in Woodbridge
Charged with possession of marijuana
Court date set for June 11, 2013, released on a summons
Residential Burglary – On April 14th at 3:50AM, police responded to the 1500 block of Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries (22026) for a burglary in progress. Caller reported to police that he was on his yacht, which was docked in the above location, when he heard noises coming from a portion of the vessel. Upon checking on the noise, the caller observed four unknown men. Once being discovered by the caller, the men fled the area. A CB radio, valued around $80, was reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On April 13th at 10:52PM, police responded to the 18400 block of Woodland Dr in Triangle (22172) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 3:00PM and 10:00PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door which had been forced open. A laptop, jewelry, and other property, valued around $1,000, in addition to an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were reported missing.
Residential Burglary – On April 12th at 11:13PM, police responded to the 2000 Horizon Ct in Woodbridge (22191) for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:15PM and 11:00PM. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door. Jewelry, valued around $645, was reported missing.
