**INCIDENTS**
Attempted Armed Robbery – On March 7th at 10:35PM, police responded to the Dollar Tree located at 13345 Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22193) for an attempted robbery. An employee reported to police that he just closed the business and was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot with the night deposit when he was approached by an unknown man. The suspect was holding a bat and demanded the money. A physical altercation ensued between the employee and the suspect. Following a brief struggle, the accused fled the area on foot. No money was taken and no injuries were reported. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the suspect.

**ARRESTS**
Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On March 7th at 1:16PM, police responded to the Pawn City located at 4124 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193) for an initial report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that a known customer to the business, identified as the accused, was in the process of completing a transaction with the victim, a 62 year old man of Burke. The victim is an employee of the business. After completing the transaction, the accused displayed a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck. The victim fell to the ground, at which point, the accused got over the counter and stabbed the victim a second time. The victim was able to retrieve a firearm causing the accused to flee the business in a vehicle. The victim was flown to an area hospital as a precaution for non-life threatening injuries. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau were able to quickly identify the suspect. Detectives and officers located the vehicle in the area of River Ridge Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted on Wayside Dr where the accused was detained without incident. Following the investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested.

Armed Robbery – On March 7th at 4:09PM, police responded to the Bank of America located at 12881 Braemar Village Plz in Bristow (20136) for a robbery. Employees reported to police that a masked man entered the bank and approached a teller. Once at the counter, the accused displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the area on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was utilized in the search for the suspect who was believed to have gotten into a vehicle. During the investigation, detectives from the Robbery Unit learned that the suspect was believed to have been in the bank earlier in the day. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as the accused. The accused was located leaving his residence off of Broadsword Dr where a traffic stop was conducted. Evidence from the robbery, including clothing worn during the robbery, was recovered and the accused was subsequently arrested. A search warrant was conducted at the suspect’s residence. As a result of the search, a replica firearm, gloves, mask, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency were recovered.

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On March 7th at 1:24PM, police responded to the 1500 block of Colonial Drive in Woodbridge (22192) for a domestic with weapons. The investigation revealed that both arrestees’ were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. The altercation became physical and, at one point, the accused, HEISHMAN, fell and struck her head on a table causing minor injuries. HEISHMAN then retrieved a shovel from outside of the residence and repeatedly struck a door to the home. When BARKER confronted HEISHMAN, she struck him to the head with the shovel causing injuries near his left eye. Officers arrived and detained the two parties. Following the investigation, both were subsequently arrested.

Felony Child Abuse – On March 4th, detectives from the Physical Abuse Unit began an investigation into physical abuse which was reported to have occurred at 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries (22026) on February 26th. The investigation revealed that the accused was babysitting the victim, a 9 year old girl of Dumfries, when the victim sustained severe burns to her arm. Detectives learned that the accused and the victim were playing a “game” which involved putting salt and ice on bare skin. The combination is known to potentially cause burns to the skin. The accused held the combination of salt and ice on the victim’s skin for a short time period. As a result, burns and swelling formed on the victim’s skin. School officials noticed the burns on March 4th and immediately notified police prompting the investigation. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
