Prince William County’s Delegate Torian named chairman of House Appropriations Committee
Prince William County Del. Luke Torian (D-52) has been appointed chairman of the Virginia House of Delegates Appropriations Committee. Torian’s appointment was made by Del. Eileen Filler-Corn, Speaker-elect, according to a news release from the House Democratic Caucus.
The Appropriations Committee determines the services on which state tax money will be spent and the amounts for those services.
Del, Torian, an eastern Prince William delegate since 2009 and a church pastor for 20 years, has been a member of the Appropriations Committee and has served on the Conference Committee that irons out differences between House and State Senate spending bills.
