Thanks to the efforts of nursing pioneers like Florence Nightingale and Clara Barton, today’s nurses undergo a rigorous education process to help them be the best they can be as nurses.
The LPN program is offered through the Prince William County School of Practical Nursing was recently ranked as the number 10 program in the state of Virginia.
This ranking is given by PracticalNursing.org, using an assessment that considers how well the program supports the students in receiving their licensure and prepares them for careers in nursing.
Another important factor used to determine this ranking is the pass rate of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) each year. For this criterion, PWCS boasts a 95 percent pass rate, according to a news release from Prince William County Schools.
Prince William County Schools’ Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) course of study is 18 months in length, with nine months in the classroom and nine months spent in a hands-on clinical environment, the release said.
