Potomac Middle School 13-year-old charged in strangulation case

Strangulation – On March 26 at 11:00AM, the School Resource Officer at Potomac Middle School was notified about an assault the occurred the day prior, Monday, March 25.

According to Officer Renee Carr, police department spokesman, the investigation revealed that during class at the end of the school day on March 25, the accused, a 13-year-old girl, wrapped her arm around the neck of a fellow student, a 14-year-old boy.

Other students, including a 14-year-old girl were able to separate the two parties. During the encounter, the accused then put both hands around the neck of a female student. All parties separated and the female student was treated by the school nurse for minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused was charged.
