Police suspect hotel robberies may be related–two Saturday, two Sunday

**INCIDENTS**

Armed Robberies – On November 8th and 9th, officers have responded to four hotels in Prince William County to investigate armed robberies. In all cases, a man of similar description enters the lobby and approaches a clerk at the front desk counter. Once at the counter, the man displays a handgun and takes money before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported in any of the robberies. The same suspect is also believed to be responsible for the October 22nd robbery of the Residence Inn in Manassas. A timeline of the incidents are below.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 20 & 29 years of age, 5’10”-6’0”, 180-200lbs with a medium build
Last seen wearing a black skull cap, white cloth over his face, white work gloves with red grips and dark hooded sweatshirt or plaid shirt

• November 8th at 1:13PM – Wyndham Gardens Hotel, 10800 Vandor Ln in Manassas
• November 8th at 2:48PM – Days Inn, 7611 Centreville Rd in Manassas

• November 9th at 6:03PM – Sleep Inn, 14080 Shoppers Best Way in Woodbridge
• November 9th at 6:45PM –Wytestone Suites, 14525 Gideon Dr in Woodbridge

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On October 22nd at 10:40PM, officers responded to the Residence Inn located at 7345 Williamson Blvd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man entered the lobby and approached the front desk counter. Once there, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the employee. The man took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect.

Strong Armed Robbery – On November 7th at 5:54PM, officers responded to the 17600 block of Old Triangle Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 17 year old male juvenile of Dumfries, reported to police that he was walking in the above area when he was approached by three unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men struck the victim in the face, knocking him to the ground. Once on the ground, the men kicked the victim before taking his cell phone and fleeing the area. Minor injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe two of the assailants.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 18 & 20 years of age, 5’11”, 140lbs with a thin build and short blonde hair
Last seen wearing a red hooded jacket, red cap and glasses

Black male, between 18 & 20 years of age, 140lbs with a thin build
Last seen wearing all dark clothing

Assault by Mob – On November 8th at 3:22PM, officers responded to the 10000 block of Portsmouth Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a report of a large fight. Officers responded to the area and located two victims who were involved in the encounter. The victims were identified as a 21 year old man and a 33 year old man – both of Woodbridge. Both sustained significant injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The investigation revealed that the victims were assaulted by a group of unknown men in the area of Ashland Dr. No other information was provided to police about what started the altercation and both victims were unable to describe the assailants.

Residential Burglary – On November 8th at 10:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 6700 block of Sutton Oaks Way in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:30PM and 10:30PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear door. Jewelry was reported missing. 

Residential Burglary – On November 6th at 6:00PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 600 block of Waterman’s Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:20PM and 5:37PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Jewelry was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On November 6th at 2:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:50AM and 2:30PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. An iPod, several pairs of shoes and jewelry were reported missing. 

Commercial Burglary – On November 9th at 11:26AM, officers responded to Little Thai Pei located at 1968 Daniel Stuart Sq in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:00PM on November 8th and 11:20AM on November 9th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a front door which was forced open. No property was reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On November 6th at 11:03AM, officers responded to Betanaya Market located at 14827 Build America Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The business owner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00PM on November 5th and 10:00AM on November 6th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a front glass door which was broken out. Jewelry, money and a Kindle were reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On November 9th at 9:45AM, officers responded to the Latino Market located at 14342 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an attempted burglary. The business owner reported to police that sometime between 9:30PM on November 8th and 8:30AM on November 9th, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the business through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

Attempted Commercial Burglary – On November 6th at 10:40AM, officers responded to Iroko International Food located at 1801 Reddy Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The business owner reported to police that sometime between 8:00PM on November 5th and 10:00AM on November 6th, an unknown person(s) attempted to enter the business through the front door which was found damaged. No entry was made into the business and no property was reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On November 6th at 9:20AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 16900 block of Porters Inn Dr in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9:00AM on November 5th and 8:30AM on November 6th. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through the front door which was forced open. Two TV’s and a set of speakers were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On November 5th at 4:54PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 7300 block of Wichita Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00PM and 4:15PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A purse was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 6th at 9:30AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 3200 block of Berlin Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The resident of the apartment reported to police that she was inside her residence when she heard a noise coming from outside. Upon checking the apartment, the resident observed two unknown men. One of the men was in the process of removing one of the window screens before being observed by the resident. The men immediately fled the area.  No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects.
Suspect Descriptions:
Both suspects were black males, between 16 & 25 years of age, 6’0”, 160lbs with thin builds, dark complexions and short black hair

The 1st suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and black jeans

The 2nd suspect was last seen wearing a black sweater and a black shirt with a red design

**ARRESTS**

Shooting Investigation – On November 6th at 4:33PM, officers responded to the Wal-Mart located at 14000 Worth Ave in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that an unknown man entered the store and approached the jewelry counter. During the encounter, the man displayed a hammer in each hand and began breaking the glass jewelry counters. Following the incident, the man fled the store. An off-duty officer with the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division encountered the man inside the store and pursued him to the parking lot where the officer issued commands. The man ignored those commands and was subsequently shot. Officers arrived at the scene and detained the man without further incident. The suspect was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives have charged the accused in the connection to damaging the counter inside the Wal-Mart. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding | Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony – On November 9th at 12:22AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a shooting. The victim, a 32 year old man of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a handgun and fired once into the floor of the apartment which traveled into a lower apartment. The victim attempted to leave the apartment and was shot by the accused just outside the front door. The accused fled the immediate area prior to police arriving but was located and arrested a short time later without further incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On November 8th at 3:52PM, officers responded to investigate a domestic assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 3600 block of Stonewall Manor Dr in Woodbridge (22191) on September 29th. The victim, a 32 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that on this date she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. After the altercation, the victim left the home on foot and was followed by the accused. At one point, the accused grabbed the victim’s arm and dragged her back into the home to an upstairs bedroom. The accused prevented her from leaving the bedroom multiple times. The two parties eventually separated. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Burglary with Intent to Commit Assault | Assault & Battery – On November 6th at 8:48PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5600 block of Rowser Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. A resident of the home reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, entered the residence through a rear window. Once inside, the accused began assaulting a female guest of the home. The two parties were eventually separated and the accused fled the residence. Minor injuries were reported. No property was taken. The accused was later arrested on November 7th without further incident. This incident appears to have stemmed from a previous encounter between the parties involved.

Residential Burglary | Destruction of Property – On November 7th at 4:00AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 19000 block of Potomac Crest Dr in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that the accused, a known acquaintance, forcibly entered the residence after kicking open the front door. A police K-9 was used to search the home and successfully located the accused in an upstairs bedroom where he was arrested without further incident.

Charged with burglary and destruction of property
