Police seek suspect in homicide

**UPDATES**

Homicide Investigation *UPDATE – On May 13, the victim involved in the May 12 shooting on Hensley Rd in Manassas died at an area hospital as a result of his injuries. Detectives from the Homicide Unit are continuing to investigate this case. Currently, no arrests have been made. This is Prince William County’s 9th homicide of 2016*.

The victim was identified as John Thomas MANNION, 43, of Manassas

Malicious Wounding | Shooting Investigation [Previously Released] – On May 12 at 2:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 9500 block of Hensley Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived at the home and located an adult male victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Other occupants were in the home at the time of incident and were unharmed. The preliminary investigation revealed that possibly two suspects entered the home and shot the victim before fleeing. A police K-9 responded to the scene to search for the suspects who were not located. This incident does not appear to be random. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Bureau are continuing the investigation.

**INCIDENTS**

Malicious Wounding – On May 13 at 12:41AM, officers responded to the residence in the 8400 block of Hessian Hill Ct in Bristow (20136) to investigate a stabbing. The victim, a 46 year old woman of Bristow, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were arguing over the last few days and it had escalated during this incident. During the physical struggle the victim received a small cut to the right side of her abdomen. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where she was treated and discharged. Following the investigation, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of the accused, identified as Dwight Angelo ROBINSON.

Residential Burglary – On May 12 at 4:30PM, officers responded to the residence located in the 7200 block of Kings Arm Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 1:00PM on May 3 and 11:00AM on May 10. The investigation revealed that possible entry was made at a window at the front of the residence which was found damaged. A television, various game consoles, and miscellaneous household items were reported missing.

**ARRESTS**

Murder Investigation – On May 12 at 8:45PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15100 block of Brazil Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, a 14 year old male juvenile, suffering from injuries to the upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigation, detectives from the Homicide Unit identified the suspect as a 17 year old male juvenile. The accused was arrested without incident. The victim and the suspect were known to one another. The preliminary investigation into this incident revealed that victim died from blunt force trauma. This is Prince William County’s 8th homicide of 2016*.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 12 at 12:26AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 8100 block of Weatherwood Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate burglary in progress. The resident of the apartment reported to police that he heard a noise coming from a bedroom window. Upon checking the residence, he observed an unknown man on his balcony and contacted police. No entry was gained into the apartment and no property was reported missing. The man fled prior to police arriving in the area. A rear sliding door was found damaged. The suspect was located and taken into custody. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Arthur Stuart KATABARWA, was arrested.

          Charged with attempted burglary and destruction of property
