Death Investigation – On Nov. 16 at 9:10AM, officers responded to the area of Pond Way and Park Lake Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that while walking in the above area, a body was discovered in the pond, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman. The victim, identified as a male, was removed from the water and pronounced deceased. At this time, the cause of death is unknown and the investigation is continuing, Perok said.
Armed Robbery | Residential Burglary – On Nov. 16 at 1:19AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Independent Hill Dr in Manassas (20112) to investigate a burglary-in-progress. The investigation revealed that three armed masked males forced their way into the residence and demanded money. One of the occupants inside the home was assaulted during the incident. The suspects took a safe containing an undisclosed amount of money and other property before leaving the home, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman. Minor injuries were reported. The suspects were only described as black males wearing all dark colored clothing and with their faces covered. This incident does not appear to be random, and the investigation continues, Perok said.
Commercial Burglary – On November 16 at 2:55AM, officers responded to the McDonalds located at 1480 Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived at the business, they discovered the drive-thru window was shattered. Surveillance footage revealed that two men, wearing hooded sweatshirts with their faces covered, forced entry into the business through the window. Once opened, one of the men entered the business and attempted to enter a safe in an office area. No access was made to the safe and the suspects fled prior to police arriving at the business. No property was reported missing. A police K-9 searched for the suspects who were not located. No additional suspect description is available at this time.
Attempted Residential Burglary – On November 15 at 9:30PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14100 block of Cove Landing Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary-in-progress. The resident of the apartment reported to police that she was inside her unit when she heard a noise coming from the rear door. When the resident looked outside, she observed an unknown man attempting entry. The man immediately fled once seen y the resident. No entry was made into the apartment and no property was reported missing. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. The suspect was only described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
