Police need help identifying deceased man; no foul play suspected

Death Investigation | Request to Identify – On July 19, 2021 at 5:30AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13900 block of US 1 in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a death.

The caller reported to police that an unknown man was found unresponsive behind a business in the above area. Rescue personnel responded to the location where the man was pronounced deceased. The man’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination and autopsy.

At this time, detectives do not believe the victim’s death is the result of a homicide, no foul play is suspected. The man remains unidentified.

Detectives are releasing information from their investigation in hopes of identifying the deceased and making notifications to a next-of-kin. The man was known only as “David” to others in the area, with a possible last name of “Gonsales” or “Gonzalez”. “David” was known to frequent the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and the Prince William County Pkwy to obtain work and occasionally rented rooms at the nearby Bay View Apartments. “

David” may have immigrated to the USA from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala and possibly has family in Gwinnett County, Georgia. More information will be released when available. The investigation continues.

Deceased Description:
“David” is described as a Hispanic man, believed to be between 30-40 years of age, approximately
5’5”, 150lbs with no tattoos or identifying marks
The deceased was wearing a green t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
