Police investigating April 24 death in Woodbridge as possible suicide

Death Investigation *UPDATE – The preliminary investigation into the incident indicates that the deceased party is believed to have started a fire inside the residence before taking his own life by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper body. 

This incident was jointly investigated by detectives from the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit and investigators from the Department of Fire and Rescue’s Fire Marshals’ Office, according to Police Department spokesman Officer Nathan Probus.

Death Investigation [Previously Released] – On April 24 at 11:34PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 3500 block of Sherbrooke Cir in Woodbridge (22192) to assist the Department of Fire and Rescue with an apartment fire. Upon searching the apartment, fire crews located an unconscious adult male who was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the death and the fire are still under investigation. This incident is being jointly investigated by detectives from the Prince William County Police Homicide Unit and investigators from the Department of Fire and Rescue’s Fire Marshals’ Office. The deceased was identified as Simeon Saplan LIM, 54, of Manassas
