Police investigate three malicious wounding cases; two victims were in their 60’s

*Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On January 19 at 8:16PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4000 block of Cressida Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed that the accused and two family members, a 66-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused physically assaulted both victims before the male victim fell to the ground and lost consciousness. The female victim ran to a neighbor’s residence to contact the police. While investigating, officers located the accused in the backyard, where he was taken into custody. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The accused was also transported to an area hospital where he was treated and eventually released to police. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Mohamed Sardar NABI, was arrested.

• Malicious Wounding – On January 20, 2022, officers concluded an investigation into a malicious wounding that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 3800 block of Marquis Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) on the evening of December 26, 2021. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 29-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim with a large glass smoking device. At one point, another occupant of the residence contacted the police. The victim was transported to an area hospital with significant injuries. The victim eventually contacted the police where she provided additional information about the incident. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Alisha Nicole COSTON. On January 20, 2022, the accused was taken into custody without incident.

• Malicious Wounding – On January 19 at 7:55AM, officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred at the Sunny Gate Apartments located in the 3800 block of Graham Park Rd. in Triangle (22172) earlier that morning. The victim, a 37- year-old man, reported to police that he and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim multiple times with a helmet. Eventually the parties separated, and the victim went to a nearby fire station for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Hope Staresha JOHNSON.
Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

• Commercial Burglary – On January 19 at 10:06PM, officers responded to the VA Smoke Shop located at 1410 Old Bridge Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arriving at the business, officers observed damage to the front glass door. Video surveillance footage revealed that an unknown man used a pole to smash the glass front door to gain entry into the business. Once inside the store, the suspect took several vape products before leaving out of the broken front door. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.
