Police investigate incidents during weekend filled with gunshots

• Shooting Investigation – On Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at 2:49PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to the 2700 block of Yosocomico Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located shell casings in the area of Yosocomico Ln. and Nanticoke Ln.

While investigating the incident, officers were informed that a 21-year old man was at a residence on Jed Forest Ln. with a gunshot wound. The initial investigation revealed that the man was sitting in a vehicle on Yosocomico Ln., when he observed three unknown men approach the vehicle. When the man exited the vehicle, the suspects fired several rounds, striking the man as he fled the area.

The man ran to the above residence where emergency services were contacted. The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspects fled the area on foot. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. While canvassing the area, officers located two occupied apartments and two unoccupied vehicles that sustained damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. No additional injuries were reported. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Suspect Descriptions:
Three black men, all between 20-30 years of age, one was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and multi-colored sneakers; the second was last seen wearing a white/black jacket, black pants, and black sneakers; and the third was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black sneakers

• Shooting Investigation – On Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 2:07AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Stonebridge Potomac Town Center located in the 15000 block of Potomac Town Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting.

Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard before two vehicles fled at a high rate of speed. While investigating the incident, officers were informed that a 30-year-old man drove to an area hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The investigation revealed that the man was inside his parked vehicle, when a dark-colored SUV approached from behind. As the SUV drove by the man’s vehicle, multiple gunshots were fired, striking the driver of the sedan.

The man quickly drove to an area hospital where officers located the vehicle in the parking lot. The dark-colored SUV fled prior to police arriving in the area. No additional injuries were reported, and no property damage was reported.

The injured man was not cooperative with officers during the investigation.

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 3:08AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15200 block of Crescent St. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. Several callers reported to police that gunshots were heard.

Upon arriving in the area, officers located several shell casings in the street in front of the residence. The investigation revealed that two unknown individuals walked to the front of the residence where multiple rounds were fired towards the home. After the incident, the suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported. The only suspect description currently available is two individuals wearing dark-colored clothing.

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 12:36AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3100 block of Castle Hill Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed that two unknown men walked in front of a residence and fired several rounds towards the home. The suspects fled on foot before police arrived in the area. No injuries and no additional property damage were reported. Shell casings were located on the ground in front of the residence. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located.

Suspect Descriptions:
Two men, unknown race, one was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat pants, while the other was wearing all dark-colored clothing

•Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Friday, Dec. 3 at 8:28AM, officers responded to the Longview Apartments located in the 13700 block of Lynn St. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a destruction of property. The investigation revealed that sometime between 10 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 12 a.m. on Dec. 3, residents of the apartment complex reported hearing gunshots. Later that morning, a 43-year-old male resident observed damage to his vehicle consistent with being struck by projectiles.

Shell casings were located near the side of one of the buildings. No injuries or additional property damage were located.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 at 2:33AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the El Establo Bar and Grill located at 7911 Centreville Rd. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a fight with weapons. Upon arriving in the area, officers observed several people in the parking lot acting disorderly and not leaving the location. As officers were attempting to disperse the patrons, a gunshot was heard near an additional parking area on Spruce St.

During the investigation, officers observed a white sedan with a bullet hole in the windshield leaving the parking lot. Responding officers located the vehicle a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop where they determined none of the occupants was injured. The driver of the vehicle reported to police that the vehicle was damaged while the occupants were inside the restaurant. Officers located a spent shell casing in the parking area of Spruce St. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.

•Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at 12:15PM, officers responded to The Sutton located in the 2300 block of Vantage Dr. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call.

The investigation revealed that while inside an apartment, a resident, later identified as the accused, was handling a firearm when a round discharged. The round went through the floor and traveled through the ceiling into the apartment below. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Kwabena AGYAPONG, who was arrested the following day.
