Police investigate fatal crash at Sudley Rd. and Sudley Manor Drive

**INCIDENTS**

Fatal Crash Investigation – On January 1 at 8:01AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Sudley Rd and Sudley Manor Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a two vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2014 Honda CRV was traveling eastbound on Sudley Manor Dr at an excessive speed when the vehicle entered the intersection at Sudley Rd against a red traffic signal. The vehicle struck a traffic signal pole located in the median before striking a 2007 Honda Fit which was traveling northbound on Sudley Rd. When officers arrived, the Honda CRV was found engulfed in flames with the driver still located inside the vehicle.  The driver of the CRV was flown to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries on January 21. The other driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  It is unknown at this time if alcohol and drugs are factors or if the driver of the Honda CRV was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The investigation continues.

The driver of the 2014 Honda CRV was identified as Val Keith ENSOR, Jr., 21, of Manassas
         
The driver of the 2007 Honda Fit was identified as a 55 year old woman of Manassas

Residential Burglary – On January 21 at 5:39PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13800 block of Delaney Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary.  A resident of the home reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11:30AM and 5:00PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the residence. A laptop, gaming console, and headphones were reported missing.

Commercial Burglary – On January 18 at 8:07AM, officers responded to the Manassas Chevrolet located at 8000 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The business manager reported to police that the burglary occurred between 4:00PM on January 16 and 7:00AM on January 18. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the business through a window which was found damaged.  Tools were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On January 25 at 11:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4800 block of Montega Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that an unknown man knocked on the front door. When no one answered, the suspect went to the back of the residence and attempted to open a rear door. When the homeowner challenged the suspect, he fled the area in a black Mazda sedan. No entry was made and no property was reported missing.  A short time later, officers responded to the 13200 block of Quate Ln for a burglary in progress involving the same suspect. When the suspect was challenged by the homeowner, he again fled the area in the black Mazda sedan.  No entry was made and no property was reported missing. The investigation continues.
Suspect Description:
Black male, between 18 & 25 years of age, 5’5”, 150lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Last seen wearing a black mask, black jacket with a grey vest, black pants, and black gloves with yellow knuckles

**ARRESTS**

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On January 24 at 1:38AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8400 block of Sunset Dr in Manassas (20109) to investigate a domestic assault.  The victim, a 28 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated.  During the encounter, the accused punched her in the head.  The parties eventually separated and police were contacted.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious, life threatening injuries.  Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Roberto Enrique Arma MONTOYA DE LEON, 27, of 8400 block of Sunset Dr in Manassas
Charged with aggravated malicious wounding

Malicious Wounding | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 25 at 5:20PM, officers responded to the 8200 block of Glade Bank Dr in Manassas (20111) to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 25 year old woman of Manassas Park, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. A struggle ensued before the parties were separated and police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault & battery

Strangulation | Domestic Assault & Battery – On January 22 at 2:30PM, officers responded to the 13600 block of Dumfries Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate an intoxicated person. Officers arrived in the area and made contact with the accused who exhibited signs of intoxication. During the investigation, officers determined the accused was involved in a domestic assault at an apartment located in the 7800 block of Taylow Dr in Manassas around 8:30AM. The victim, a 73 year old woman of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and began to choke her. The parties eventually separated and the accused left the area. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Robert Irwin TERRY, Jr., 51, of 7800 block of Taylow Dr in Manassas
Charged with strangulation, domestic assault & battery, and public intoxication
Court Date: March 14, 2016 | Status: Held WITHOUT Bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 21 at 11:46PM, officers responded to the Holiday Inn Express located at 10810 Battlefield Pkwy in Manassas (20109) to investigate a suspicious person. Once in the area, officers made contact with the accused.  During the encounter, the officers determined the accused was wanted for unrelated charges. When the officers attempted to arrest the accused, he resisted and struck one of the officers in the chest. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Douglas Alberto RAMOS DE PAZ, 20, of 9418 Blackstone Rd in Manassas
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO and resisting arrest
Court Date: March 16, 2016 | Bond: Held WITHOUT Bond

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On January 21 at 7:23PM, a Prince William County police officer responded to investigate a single vehicle crash in the area of Arnold Palmer Dr and Golf View Cir in Haymarket (20169). Upon arriving, the officer determined that the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and arrested her without incident.  While being processed at the Adult Detention Center, the accused kicked the officer in the leg. Following the encounter, the accused was charged with the below listed offenses.
Arrested on December 4th:
Cathy Jo HOTTLE, 41, of 15479 Arnold Palmer Dr in Haymarket
Charged with assault & battery on a LEO , resisting arrest, and driving under the influence
Court Date: March 4, 2016 | Bond:  Held on a $35,000 Secured Bond
