Police give first aid after finding boy, 14, suffering from gunshot injury

Shooting Investigation – On September 5 at 2:06AM, officers responded to the area of Brockenbrough Dr. near McDowell Ct. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 14-year-old male juvenile, suffering from a gunshot injury. Officers rendered aid to the victim before he was transported to an area hospital with significant injuries.

The investigation revealed that the victim and other acquaintances were in the walkway near the above area when they encountered two unknown men. At some point during the encounter, shots were fired, and the victim was struck. The victim returned to his residence where emergency services were contacted. . A police K-9 and the Fairfax County police helicopter responded to search the area for the suspects who were not located.

Officers canvassed the area and located a shell casing on the walkway. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. There only suspect description at this time is two black men approximately 6’00” wearing dark colored clothing. The investigation continues.
