Police find suspected illegal narcotics while investigating alleged strangulation

Strangulation | Malicious Wounding – On Friday, June 12, 2020 at 8:30PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Riverside Station Apartments located in the 14000 block of Big Crest Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 25-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused struck the victim several times before grabbing her throat and holding her down. The parties eventually separated, and the victim contacted the police.

The accused was located by officers in a garage near the apartments and was detained without incident. The victim reported minor injuries. While police were investigating, the accused was found in possession of suspected illegal narcotics, according to the police report. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as, Patrick Stephen WALSH, was arrested.

Charged with 1 count of strangulation, 1 count of possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance and 1 count of possession of marijuana
