Police find deceased person after fire at Woodbridge home; medical examiner called in
Death Investigation | Structure Fire – On March 24 at 4:51AM, personnel from the Prince William Department of Fire & Rescue responded to a residence located in the 12800 block of Silvia Lp in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a fire. Fire crews initially responded to the home for a fire where they located a person inside the residence.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was transported the Medical Examiner’s Office in Manassas for an autopsy. The identity of the deceased will be released once confirmed and a next-of-kin notified.
The investigations into the death and the cause of the fire remain under joint investigation by Prince William County police detectives and the Department of Fire & Rescue, Fire Marshal’s Office, according to First Sergeant Jonathan Perok, PW Police Department representative.
