Police charge felony eluding and resisting arrest in Rt. 1 incident

**ARRESTS**

Grand Larceny | Felony Eluding | Resisting Arrest – On February 6th at 2:30AM, a Prince William County police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving in the area of Wayside Dr and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Dumfries (22026). The vehicle failed to stop for the officer and continued northbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy. Officers were able to successfully deflate one of the vehicle tires using a Stinger device in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy ad Featherstone Rd. Despite the tire being delated, the vehicle continued to flee and eventually stopped in the area of Riggs Ct off of Mt. Pleasant Dr. Once stopped, the driver and passenger immediately fled on foot. Additional officers responded and a perimeter was established in the surrounding neighborhood while two police K-9s conducted a search for the suspects. While investigating, officers determined that the vehicle the suspects were in was reported stolen from Stafford County. After an extensive search, K-9 officers located a man hiding in the backyard of a residence in the 14400 block of Melbourne Ave. This suspect was identified as Derell CASTON and was determined to be the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident. The passenger, identified as Reginald STEWART, was also located by officers walking in the area of Mr. Pleasant Dr and Bayside Ave. Following the investigation, both men were arrested.

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary – On February 5th at 9:10PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 1200 block of Marseille Ln in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:20AM and 9:00PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a rear door which was pried open. Jewelry and multiple iPads were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On January 29th at 8:21PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Candlewood Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 8:00PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through a basement level sliding glass door which was forced open. A gaming console and jewelry were reported missing.
