**ARRESTS**
Felony Child Endangerment – On July 13 at 10:09PM, officers responded to the 8100 block of Pointer Ln in Manassas (20109) to investigate a suspicious person looking into vehicles. When an officers arrived, they made contact with a man matching the description provided by the caller. During the encounter, the officer determined that the man, identified as Terry Wayne Francis SMITH, was intoxicated and detained him without incident. Upon further investigation, officers learned that SMITH had left two children, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl, unattended in a nearby parked vehicle which was left running. Officers searched the parking lot and located the children unharmed. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. The children were released into the custody of a family member.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On July 12 at 10:26PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge (22191) to serve paperwork on the accused, identified as a 15-year-old female juvenile. When officers made contact with the accused inside her bedroom, she attempted to swing a belt towards them. No contact was made and a struggle ensued. At one point, the accused reached towards one of the officer’s duty belts. The accused was eventually detained. While escorting the accused to a police cruiser, she continued to act disorderly. Once at the cruiser, the accused turned and spat in the face of one of the officers. No injuries were reported.

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On July 13 at 11:15PM, detectives from the Special Victim’s Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which reportedly occurred at a residence located in the 3600 block of Wharf Ln in Triangle (22172) earlier that morning. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 15-year-old female juvenile, was inappropriately touched by the accused, an acquaintance, earlier that morning around 8:00AM. Following the investigation, the accused, was arrested without incident.

Charged with aggravated sexual battery and indecent liberties
