Police arrest suspect in attempted stabbing case on Evansport Place

On April 1, the suspect sought in connection with the attempted malicious wounding that was reported to have occurred in the 12800 block of Evansport Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) earlier that morning, was arrested. The suspect, identified as Darwin NUNEZ-RODRIGUEZ, was taken into custody at a residence in Woodbridge without incident.

Previous Report—Attempted Malicious Wounding – On April 1 at 12:16AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12800 block of Evansport Pl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, reported to police that she and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife and attempted to stab the victim. The victim was able to avoid being stabbed and left the residence to contact the police. The accused fled the scene prior to police arriving at the home. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as, Darwin NUNEZ-RODRIGUEZ. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.
