Passing of Michele McQuigg, Prince William Clerk of Court since 2008

Funeral arrangements are pending for Michele B. McQuigg, 69, Prince William Clerk of Court since 2008. McQuigg died Feb. 16.

She was a former Prince William County Supervisor, representing the Occoquan District. She was also a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates.

Delegate Richard Anderson and his wife, Occoquan Supervisor Ruth Anderson, issued the following joint statement:

“Ruth and I are saddened at the news of the passing of a great public servant, Michele B. McQuigg. We don’t normally make joint statements, but Ruth and I felt it appropriate in this instance because we are honored to hold positions once held by Michele during her own service as the OccoquanDistrict Supervisor (1992-1998) and as the 51st House District Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly (1998-2007).

“In all things, Michele had a great heart for public service and was known by her trademark hat as she knocked on literally thousands of doors across our county. In fact, citizens frequently recall Michele’s door knocking prowess during our own visits to their homes.

“We thank Michele’s husband, Clancy, and the entire McQuigg family for sharing Michele with our community for so many years. She truly leaves an indelible mark for others to emulate.”

Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement on the passing of Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk Michele McQuigg:

“Michele McQuigg was a trailblazer for women in public service in Northern Virginia. From serving on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, then on to a distinguished nine-year term in the House of Delegates, and finally serving as the County’s Clerk of the Circuit Court, her tireless service to the Prince William County community was extraordinary. I am deeply saddened by her passing and I offer my heartfelt condolences to Michele’s husband Clancy, her two daughters Heather and Kati, and her many friends. Prince William County has truly lost a great woman.”
