Passing of Mattie Parrish
Mattie Parrish, a lifelong resident of Manassas, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014.
She was the widow of the late state delegate, Harry J. Parrish, a former mayor of Manassas, and the mother of Harry J. Parrish II, the current mayor, and Judy Parrish Ratcliffe.
Born in Manassas on Jan. 21, 1921 in Manassas, she saw many changes as the town of Manassas became a city, where her husband and son served as mayor. She was a kind and generous woman and will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours with the family will be on Monday, Aug. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 9750 Wellington Road. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m.
