Overeaters Anonymous is now meeting weekly on Mondays at Bethel United Methodist Church in Woodbridge on Mondays at 7 p.m.
Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a community of people who support each other in recovering from compulsive eating and food behaviors. It’s open to anyone who feels he or she has an issue with food, including binge eating, anorexia or calorie restriction, bulimia, grazing, obsession with body weight, shape or size, obsession with food/eating, and excessive exercise.
OA was started in 1960 and is patterned after the Alcoholics Anonymous recovery program. There are currently about 60,000 members worldwide. OA is a nonprofit group and there is no cost to participate in the program or attend a meeting.
