The Montclair Library, which was announced to open on Jan. 11, 2016, has been delayed due to an electrical issue, according to a news release from the Prince William Library System.
“The contractor has run into an issue involving electrical power to the building’s emergency lighting, which has caused the need for additional lighting equipment,” said Lou Ann Dorrier, County Architect with Prince William County Public Works Facilities Construction Management Group.
A rush order has been placed for the equipment, however this has caused a delay in the date the building can be occupied by Library staff, and ultimately the public according to Dorrier.
As soon as the lighting equipment arrives and is properly installed, the facility will be ready for occupancy barring any further unforeseen issues or setbacks.
“We will send out public notice within one week of the opening so our patrons can come and enjoy the new Montclair Library,” the news release said.
