Off-duty police officer on detail struck in chest at local hospital
**ARRESTS**
Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On October 17TH at 12:36AM, an officer working an off-duty detail at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) was advised of a disorderly patient by hospital staff.
The officer responded and made contact with the accused. During the encounter, the accused struck the officer in the chest. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. No injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.
