Tweets and Facebook pages for Occoquan Elementary School tell the story best: Everyone is enthusiastic about learning, and having fun, too. Occoquan is a small school with a big story to tell. When everyone is “all in,” great things happen, such as some of the biggest gains in learning for all students. The school is one of two in Virginia recognized as a National Title I Distinguished School.
Superintendent Steve Walts, School Board Vice Chairman Lillie Jessie (Occoquan), County Supervisor Ruth Anderson (Occoquan), and Congressman Gerry Connolly’s representative Briana Sewell celebrated Occoquan Elementary School’s success with students and staff at an assembly Dec. 15.
School Board Chairman Ryan Sawyers sent his congratulations by video. Vice Chairman Jessie presented a banner to Principal Hamish Brewer and certificates of appreciation to staff.
See PWCS Facebook for a video of the event.
