Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative asks all customers to voluntarily reduce power use today, Jan. 23, 2014, while frigid outdoor temperatures are causing customers to use more energy than normal to run their heating systems and water heaters.
NOVEC requests that customers use dishwashers, ovens, washing machines, and dryers only between noon and 5 p.m.
NOVEC, headquartered in Manassas, is a not-for-profit corporation that supplies and distributes electricity and provides energy-related services to more than 153,000 customers in Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford and Clarke counties, the City of Manassas Park, and the Town of Clifton, Va.
