Novant UVA Health Center in Manassas puts new face to Sudley Road; grand opening June 12

Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center’s new façade is now apparent to all passersby on Sudley Road. A grand opening celebration for community and business leaders from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 12 will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new façade, visitor corridor and healing garden.

The new “public face” of the hospital as well as a visitor corridor and a healing garden are the “final components of a $38 million master facility improvement project started in 2014,” according to Susan Tulino, hospital spokesman. Tulino added, “The garden offers a quiet space of reflection and solace for patients, visitors and team members to enjoy. The native plantings provide different seasonal fragrances and color displays.”

Greg Napps, president and COO was quoted as saying , “At the heart of our master facility construction project is the ultimate comfort and care of our patients and their visiting loved ones,” said of Prince William Medical Center and Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center. “Our goal for this extensive improvement project was to improve access to care and the experience of our patients while in our care.”

The four-year master facility improvement project included other facility upgrades such as a redesigned interfaith room of reflection, new gift shop and information center. Infrastructure enhancements included patient parking near the main entrance, a new staff parking lot, energy infrastructure improvements to support electronic medical record technology, mechanical room upgrades for a more personalized room experience, intermediate care unit renovations and a new clinical decision unit, according to a news release from the hospital.
