Novant Health Prince William Medical Center recognized for nursing excellence

Novant Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, VA is celebrating a major achievement in nursing care.

According to a news release, the medical center recently achieved Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Magnet. This is the first designation for Prince William Medical Center.

The Magnet Recognition Program serves as the national gold standard requiring excellence in three key areas: nursing satisfaction, patient satisfaction and clinical performance, according to the news release.

Only 430 health care organizations out of nearly 6,000 U.S. health care organizations have achieved Magnet status. As of 2015, about 7 percent of all registered hospitals in the United States have achieved ANCC Magnet Recognition Status.

“We have the world’s greatest team members working at our hospital, including the highest quality and best-trained nurses available,” Bebe Holt, president and chief operating officer of Prince William Medical Center, was quoted as saying in the news release. “Being recognized by the ANCC for the quality of our nursing team members underscores that record of excellence. Earning Magnet recognition is a remarkable accomplishment and a tremendous source of pride.”
