During the spring semester that begins Jan. 12, the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College is offering two options to make getting a college education easier: NOVA Next Door and Sunrise College.
NOVA Next Door puts classes close to where people live. Classes are scheduled at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, Manassas Park High School, Osbourn High School in Manassas and Patriot High School in Nokesville. NOVA Next Door courses meet in the evening once a week, and include College Composition, Introduction to Sociology, United States History, The American Experience in Vietnam, Precalculus, Introduction to Communication, History of Western Civilization, and Developmental Psychology.
Sunrise College classes start at 6:30 a.m. for people who want to attend college before work or other obligations. Spring Sunrise College courses include General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Microbiology, Introduction to Computing, Principles of Microeconomics, College Composition, Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts, Precalculus, Aerobic Fitness, and Principles of Psychology.
Spring registration is open 24 hours a day at http://www.nvcc.edu and in-person assistance is available during normal business hours at the Manassas Campus.
