Northern Virginia Checkered Cab comes to PWC

Prince William County Police Department wishes to remind everyone that only licensed taxicab companies are able to pick up clients in the County of Prince William and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

Yellow Cab of Prince William County and, effective July 11 2014, Northern Virginia Checker Cab are the only two companies with a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity operating in Prince William.

Northern Virginia Checker Cab has acquired the Manassas Cab Company and will be transitioning its vehicles to the new color scheme between now and October 7, 2014, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, spokesman for Prince William County Police Department.

During that time, customers may be picked up by a taxi bearing either color scheme. 

Customers can verify that the cab they are using is licensed by checking to see if a valid cab inspection decal is posted from the upper left corner of the rear window.  The 2015 decals are red.  Also, all licensed taxicab drivers are required to display a valid PWC Taxi License when operating their cab.
