Nominations due by Nov. 23 for annual PWC Human Rights Awards

Prince William County Human Rights Commission now is accepting nominations for its Annual Human Rights Awards. Individuals, nonprofit organizations or businesses may be nominated for outstanding accomplishments in the area of human rights in Prince William County. The deadline for submitting nominations is Nov. 23, 2015.

Contact the Human Rights Office to receive a nomination form or download it from the website.  Nominations may be faxed, mailed or delivered to the Human Rights Commission, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive, Suite 125, Woodbridge, Va. 22191, 703-792-6944 (fax).

Award recipients will be honored at the annual observance of Universal Human Rights Day on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, in the James J. McCoart Building. Last year’s award recipients were Albert Brooks, Eleana Boyer, Cynthia Brown, Rev. Dr. Luke Torian and Victoria Graham.

The mandate of the Human Rights Commission is to eliminate discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, marital status, age or disability in the areas of employment, housing, public accommodations, education and credit.
