Nokesville man killed in July 1 crash on PW Parkway

Crash – Fatality – On July 1st at 1:58AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of the Prince William Pkwy and Crooked Knoll Way in Manassas (20111) to investigate a crash, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, police spokesman.

The investigation revealed that the driver of 2001 Subaru Impreza RS was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Prince William Pkwy when the vehicle collided head on with a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt which was traveling westbound, the police report said.

The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. Speed is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Potential drug and alcohol use remains under investigation. The investigation continues, according to the police report.
