With Grand Marshal Tom Basham and Citizen of the Year Pete Jacobius and a few snowflakes falling, the sixth annual Nokesville Christmas Parade kicked off the holiday season Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. Santa rode into town on a fire truck.
After the parade down the village’s main street, Fitzwater Drive, spectators enjoyed chili hot dogs and visits with Santa in the fellowship hall and the living nativity on the lawn at Nokesville Church of the Brethren, said BJ Thomas, parade committee member.
There were a couple of cancellations, she noted.
