Matthew Guilfoyle, who has served as executive director of communications and community relations for Fairfax County Public Schools since 2015, has been appointed associate superintendent for Communications and Technology Services for Prince William County Schools.
He succeeds Phil Kavits, who will retire from the associate role at the end of the month after serving PWCS for seven years.
Guilfoyle previously served as a public affairs officer for the Architect of the Capitol, and director of global internal communications for The Nature Conservancy. Guilfoyle also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives and served as the deputy manager for corporate communications and government relations for Computer Sciences Corporation.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political communication from George Washington University. He will start in PWCS in October.
