Neighbor charged with rape of 14-year-old in Manassas

**ARRESTS**

Rape Investigation – On November 22 at 7:15PM, detectives from the Prince William County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 7800 block of Gateshead Ln in Manassas (20109) earlier that day.

The victim, a 14-year-old female juvenile of Manassas, reported to police that she was approached by an acquaintance, later identified as the accused, while she was in her backyard. During the encounter, the accused was repeatedly told to leave. The accused refused to leave then followed the victim into her residence where he sexually assaulted her before leaving the home, according to a report from Officer Nathaniel Probus, police department spokesman.

The victim later disclosed the incident to a family member who contacted police. Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused on December 2. The accused was located and arrested without incident at his residence later that afternoon.

Abduction | Domestic Assault & Battery – On December 2 at 9:15PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Wren Ct in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic assault. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 46-year-old woman of Fredericksburg, who reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim then grabbed her as she attempted to leave the residence. The parties eventually separated when officers arrived. Minor injuries were reported by the victim. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.
