The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently proclaimed April 17-23, 2022 as National Volunteer Week.
Volunteers touch agencies across the county including Prince William County Fire and Rescue System, Clerk of Circuit Court, Libraries, Area Agency on Aging, Prince William Health District, Prince William County Fire and Rescue System, Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, Police, Adult Detention Center and Virginia Cooperative Extension Prince William. The work volunteers do augments the quality of life in the county by helping to bring more services to more people.
Volunteers lend their time, talent, voice and support to causes they care about. In 2021, 3,599 Prince William County volunteers gave 76,829 hours in support of county programs. The value of their time is the equivalent of 39.4 full time staff and equals $2,192,699.
