The Potomac Region Veterans Council (PRVC) announces that a National Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Quantico National Cemetery beginning at 11 a.m. A musical prelude by the Quantico Marine Corps Band is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
Since this Veterans Day falls on a Saturday, upwards of 1,500+ people are expected to attend this event, which is open to the public. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, along with many families and distinguished guests, will gather to commemorate National Veterans Day.
The Chief of Staff U.S. Air Force, Gen. David L. Goldfein, will attend as the keynote speaker.
As chief, he serves as the senior uniformed Air Force officer responsible for the organization, training and equipping of 660,000 active-duty, guard, reserve and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas.
The Potomac Region Veterans Council (PRVC) was formed 45 years ago, in June 1972, to coordinate and promote the common good of veterans of the Northern Virginia area and to honor and remember our fallen Soldiers, Sailors Airmen, and Marines, on Memorial Day, and to honor and thank all of our military veterans on Veterans Day.
The council currently represents as many as 15,000 veterans in 29 different veterans’ organizations.
