Mysterious shooting in Nokesville; black SUV, long gun involved

**INCIDENTS**
Shooting Investigation – On June 25 at 10:00PM, officers responded to a residence in the 12900 block of Carriage Ford Rd. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a shooting. A witness reported seeing a black SUV drive into the area and an occupant of the vehicle shoot a long gun multiple times. Neither injuries nor property damage were reported. Shell casings were collected from the area where the shots were fired. The vehicle fled the area in an unknown direction of travel. Officers conducted a search of the area for any victims or property damage with negative results. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On June 25 at 8:34PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8300 block of Leland Rd. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that when he entered through his locked front door there was an unknown man, identified as the suspect, inside. The two spoke briefly before the homeowner went to a neighbor’s house to contact the police. The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction after the homeowner left. The investigation revealed entry was gained by force through the rear sliding glass door which was found damaged. A police K-9 and the Fairfax police helicopter searched the surrounding area for the suspect who was not located. There was no property reported missing. The investigation continues.
