Maryland man, charged with abduction and burglary, turns self into police May 29

Residential Burglary – On May 29 at 10:00AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Stone Pointe Apartments located in the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, reported to police that an acquaintance, identified as the accused, kicked in the locked front door when she would not open the door for him. Upon making entry into the home, the accused pushed the victim into her bedroom where he got on top of her and prevented her from leaving. The victim was able to separate herself from the accused and ran into another room before the accused fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Jerrell Travis MITCHELL. Later that evening MITCHELL turned himself in without incident.
