Manassas police file two charges of driving under the influence

Residential Burglary
On March 31, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 10300 block of 7th Regiment Dr for a report of a past burglary.  According to the victim, someone(s) entered into the apartment between approximately 6:00am and 2:00pm on March 31st and ransacked the residence, overturning furniture and rummaging through several rooms.  An iPad valued at $300.00 and an undisclosed amount of cash were reported stolen.  The residence was unlocked at the time of the theft and there were no signs of forced entry.

**Arrests**

Driving Under the Influence, Assault & Battery on LE – Arrest
At approximately 10:50PM on March 30, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to the 10000 block of Nokesville Rd in reference to a collision involving one vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a speed limit sign broken on a dirt median in the middle of the road and the driver, Daniel J. CHILIN, who appeared to be intoxicated.  CHILIN, 23, of 13914 Winding Ridge Ln, Centreville, VA 20121 was charged with driving under the influence and assault and battery on law enforcement.  CHILIN was held without bond and has a pending court date of May 13, 2014.

Driving Under the Influence – Arrest
At approximately 4:45PM on March 28, 2014 a Manassas City Police Officer was flagged down by a citizen in reference to a collision that had taken place on Grant Ave between Buckner Rd and Wellington Rd.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a collision involving four passenger vehicles.  Of the four vehicles involved, a sports utility vehicle was found in the front yard of a residence on Grant Ave, having taken out several fences.  Officers detected the smell of alcohol as they approached the driver, Mischelle Lee WRIGHT, 44, of 10965 Inspiration Point Pl, Manassas, VA 20112.  Officers then located a mug of alcohol in the center console of WRIGHT’s vehicle.  According to witnesses, WRIGHT was driving her SUV at a high rate of speed along Grant Ave towards Wellington Rd when she swerved to avoid another car and lost control of her own.  As a result of the wreck, WRIGHT sustained several injuries including a laceration to her forehead.  WRIGHT was charged with driving under the influence and released on a summons while receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.  Warrants for destruction of property are pending.
