Grand Larceny – Arrest
At approximately 5:30AM on March 15, 2014 Manassas City Police was dispatched to “Pest Management Services, Inc” located at 8735 Quarry Rd for a report of suspicious activity and potential larceny in progress. Upon arrival, officers located a male suspect who matched the description given by the caller and confronted him. Leaving a duffle bag behind, the suspect ran and initiated a foot pursuit, after which officers apprehended him without further incident where he was found hiding nearby.
Officers recovered the duffle bag that was abandoned by the suspect. Inside were a knife, marijuana, and forty pounds of copper piping that matched the size of damaged pipes found on seven nearby air conditioning units.
Andrew HEMBRY, 50, of 9712 Aspen Pl was charged with two counts of grand larceny, two counts of destruction of property, one count of obstruction of justice, and one count of possession of marijuana. He was held without bond and has a pending court date of April 15, 2014.
