Manassas man charged with discharging a firearm within a dwelling and reckless handling

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On July 20 at 3:36PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Masons Keepe Apartments located in the 10200 block of Launch Cl. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. A resident reported to police that while inside his apartment, he heard a gunshot just before a hole appeared in his kitchen wall.

Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer, said the investigation revealed that the accused was handling a firearm in the apartment when he discharged the weapon, firing a round through the wall into the neighboring apartment. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Carter Mitchell SHEPARD, was arrested.
