On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10:50 p.m. Manassas Fire & Rescue crews responded to reports of a structure fire in Manassas Park.
As Manassas Park units were already involved in another call, City of Manassas crews took the lead on fire suppression and search and rescue.
During a search of the building, one victim was located and rescued from the structure. Manassas Advanced Life Support treated and transported the patient to Novant-Prince William Hospital. Units from Prince William and Manassas Park assisted in firefighting efforts.
“It is through circumstances such as this, when firefighters and officers use their training to enter a hazardous situation, that we achieve a positive outcome,” Manassas Chief of Fire & Rescue Rob Clemons was quoted as saying in a press release.
