Manassas City Police investigate stolen property

Burglary
On August 18, 2014 Manassas City police met with a resident on the 9000 block of Sudley Rd for a report of a burglary.  The reporting party told officers that sometime between 7:30PM on August 17th and 7:00PM August 18th, a grandfather clock valued at $1,000.00 had been stolen from the residence.  The victim told officers the front window and storm window had been opened and there were several other items that were moved and out of place throughout the residence.  A red pull wagon valued at $30.00 was also stolen.

Stolen Mopeds
On August 20, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident for report of a stolen moped.  The victim told officers that sometime between 8:30PM on August 19th and 4:30AM on August 20th his moped, valued at $1,000.00, was stolen from its parking space on the 9300 block of Taney Rd.
Description of moped: 2013 Jonway moped, black and gray in color with a black, red, and gray driver’s seat.  Major scratches on left hand mirror from a previous fall and a lock box attached to the rear of the driver’s seat.  At the time of the theft the moped was covered with a blue plastic vinyl cover that was later found on the 9300 block of Taney Rd.

At approximately 12:50AM on August 20, 2014 Manassas City Police also responded to the 9700 block of Bragg Ln for a report of a stolen moped.  Officers were advised that four black males in their upper teens had jump-started a red moped and two of them were driving it towards Byrd Dr before it stopped working in the area of Byrd Dr and Bragg Ln and would not restart.  After circulating the area, officers met with the victim, who told them that when he confronted the two suspects that were driving the vehicle, they dropped the moped and fled on foot.  One ran in the direction of the Georgetown South Community Center and another ran towards Buckner Rd.  The moped, valued at $300.00, was recovered by the victim.
