UPDATE - Manassas City Police Department motor officer struck by vehicle
Police Motorcycle Struck – UPDATE
Through further investigation, Manassas City Police identified the driver of the striking vehicle in the June 1 accident with a police motorcycle on Hastings Dr. Cindy Marie RATHBUN (29) of 16948 Point Pleasant Ln, Dumfries, VA 22025 was charged with Reckless Driving and released on a summons. RATHBUN has a pending court date of August 4, 2015 in General District Court.
Initial Report - At approximately 10:25 a.m. this morning, a Manassas City Police Department Police Motor unit was struck in the left lane of westbound Hastings Dr when the driver of another vehicle attempted to make a u-turn from the right lane.
The Motor Officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges for the driver of the striking vehicle are pending. Hastings Dr between Dumfries Rd/Rte 234 and Hendley Rd is closed for further investigation.
